have fun on days 7,8 and 9 thats a pretty rough section. The trail between the top of Twin to the top of Lafayette is super rocky with constant up's and down's but at least there is a hut that sells leftover pancakes for $2 all you can eat.

hi karl

congrats on the accomplishment of creating your itinerary! it took me a while to hash out my washington state pct 2009 itninerary and that's only 500 miles with a lot less road crossings to chose from than the at. it must have taken you forever!

anyhow good luck with your preperations and who knows maybe i could make it out there to run with you for a few days. ever since i thru-hiked the at in 1999(southbound) i wanted to go for a trail record. next year's run on the pct will be my first run of that kind and so it would be nice to help you while at the same time learn a little.

have fun!
ps you got your AR odds ready yet? there's been a bit of talk on ajw's blog

Karl,

Unbelievable! I cannot wait to watch and see you take on this difficult task head on.

With your experience, I think you have a great shot!

I'll be honored to run with you through all of NC and further if possible.

I wrote about your attempt today for a local magazine at which I'm the online Editor. www.chfmag.com

Amazing effort and I'm looking forward to seeing you accomplish it.

Days 7, 8 and 9 will be your WORST. These sections are the toughest sections along the entire trail. I'll be there to help!
