I'm searching David, Sometimes results are tough ones. One of Ultrarunning's flaws. I'll post it as soon as I know. I'm gonna make a few calls today to find out...hopefully.

Tony, I know it was a casual day in the ditch, I heard of the time (not knowing you stopped the watch when you took chat breaks) so I though it would be a good read. It has become a popular place to run these days and people are interested in what you are doing. Being the fastest out there right now, we want to know. 830 is fast for lolly gagging! Good luck at ZG, go beat the odds, you'll have a better payoff! You'll love ZG, but even you should vote against running barefoot there, even on the one mile cooldown.

Before anything gets misconstrued regarding the Grand Canyon last weekend, I'll lay down the facts:

There was absolutely NO sort of record attempt going on. The whole day was a mellow casual affair for everyone involved and I (nor anyone else) was ever running with record-attempt focus or intensity. I cruised down South Kaibab to Cottonwood Campground with Kyle and Erin Hutchinson. They turned around there and went back to the South Rim while I continued on my own to the North Rim, back down to Phantom, and then up the Bright Angel (3 miles longer trail) back to the South Rim to complete my first ever Double Crossing of the Big Ditch. My 7:24 was RUNNING time for the day (that's how I time all my TRAINING runs). That time doesn't include the bathroom breaks, chit-chat sessions on the North Rim, and swimming hole dips in the Colorado River. Including that stuff, overall time for the run was more like 8:30.

I definitely have an interest in going for Mackey's time in the future (it's too hot now and I have ZG obligations this weekend instead), and if/when I ever go for the record it will be a TOTAL TIME result from the South Kaibab Trailhead Kiosk to the North Kaibab Trailhead Kiosk and back to the South Kaibab TH Kiosk (shortest distance, ~42 miles) without ever hitting "stop" on the watch, i.e. all pee-break, bottle-filling, and gel-eating time will be included.

Watch out for a darkhorse, my buddy from Duluth Chris Gardner. Set the Superior 50mile CR by 1/2 hr. last year. That course is as techinical as anything gets I can assure you. Has the speed, but a new course, heat, will test his mettle.
