Jurek dropped. Again. But I noticed Glenn Mackie’s name on the list; he was the first American to finish MB this year. I note, too, that Mackie was a top finisher in Hardrock last month. I checked the 2007 stats and discovered he ran the two races back-to-back last year, as well. Didn’t you drop MB last year? Do you plan to attempt it, again? Or, are you defeated by the Alps?
I am hardly “defeated” by the alps. The UTMB in my terms is a highway of a trail with a few tougher sections. Hardrock and the AT are far more challenging.
I plan to go back to UTMB sometime, but at the moment I am on the AT, and who knows what lies ahead for next year.
Glenn Mackie is no rookie and it’s great to see him running well.
wow, the blog over at “where’s karl” is somthin else…i think ill post here. i must say it provides entertainment for folks who dont own a tv, travel way to much for work, and dont get to run like they dream about. you are one lucky soul. thank you for inspiring by keepin movin on and not feeding any more energy into the foolishness being posted…us northern utah transplants are wishing you some energy to finish your journey, enjoying life as it is…i think i might nominate the comments on the where’s karl blog to “stuff white people like”…anyway were white people the first to run the fastest on the appalachian trail anyway?..and the fact that it can be run or hiked or travelled for purposes such as personal goals and saving yourself rather than more universal challenges such as saving lives, villages, etc, is a gift…you keep enjoying that gift..im sure you are so tired, hang in there..we’ll miss you at the bear 100 this year..take care of those feet

Karl,
How are you holding up on the AT? Just read the new issue of Trail Runner, and really enjoyed the article about you and I’m inspired to be come a ‘mountain runner’. I plan to run Speedgoat 50K next year.

Yo Karl, it’s your old roomie Joe from back in the day. I am psyched to see you’re still out hitting it hard. I’ve been in Moab for the last five years. Anyway, I just wanted to give you a shout-out and send some good karma your way for the AT and all your other races. Keep it up, mate! BAAAAAAAH!
Karl,
I am so glad you finished your quest. Also, I am thrilled that you
met my parents( John and Pat Mc Breen) in the shannendoah section of the A.T.
I appreciate your autograph and wishing me well on my first 50. I have it and Scott Jurek’s close by each other. Looking forward to hearing about new adventures. Thank you very much for all the inspiration that you have given me.
Sincerely,
Andy
