Yes, Mike, an impressive run from Wardian. Now he knows the deal at Western too. His second run at it will be better...much better if it's a focus race.

Hal will try and throw down the gauntlet again at Wasatch......but I'm gonna try to throw it down first! Not to mention Roes and Brimhall with their own set of gauntlets! :-)

Such great stuff--a blast to "watch" unfold online. Incredible accomplishments. Would be cool to see Hal drop the gauntlet again next year :)

Something maybe lost in the fine print is Michael Wardian, who ran the 100KM World Championships (where he placed 6th) one week prior to WS and then finished 15th in his first WS run. Would be interesting to see him make Western States a target race.

Hal is absolutely the man. 2/2 AC & 2/2 WS in the last few years. That's bringing it.

Anita Ortiz ran an amazing race. I guess you can't get better than this in your first ever 100 mile attempt.

I guessed a top five finish for Anita. But winning in such a strong field is very, very impressive.

Way too go Anita!

First, points. That WS100 "webcast"? NOT. Wasatch 1, WS100 0. Heehee.

Now for Hal.

Way to go, Hal! The nice guy who won the Bear in the first years is movin' up, movin' out. Looks like he's found his ideal terrain and conditions. I have too--mango salsa, chips, and diet pepsi. Ahhh.

wow! pysched to see the nice guy with a great sense of humor win! anita, absolutely inspiring!..zach miller, impressive! i think this was his first 100 miler as well..his move back west might mean we see him at the Bear?? thanks for your results post..the WS website seemed to be having problems at times.

FYI - jon allen won the logan peak trail run, ty draney 2nd. sarah evans, 1st woman. its just a lil 28 mi podunk race up here in logan w 7200ft gain/loss but this year (3rd year) the race was quite competitive and we had a great turnout :).
