Jamie, Black Diamond's lightest poles are what I used at Hardrock. Not sure of the exact name as Roch Horton let me borrow his. I currently don't own a pair of my own yet!

Caught 12 10-14" trout! Where? Yah right, but honestly, they are everywhere in the Winds, and yah, the Golden trout at Mistake Lake are the best around...I know that place too.

Curtis, It would be cool to contact Creighton and Paul. I know both of them now, but in the Winds, I don't really need a map, so I know my way around as far as running and backpacking. I would love to know the roundtrip record for Fremont from Elkhart and back?

Any help on that?

I believe Matt C has only run Leadville twice in terms of 100s. He lives for Pikes Peak and essentially nothing else.......which is ok. It's too bad he doesn't dip into ultras more often, he would dominate like no other. He tends to go for the money instead, which I think is a good thing for him as he can make a living winning little $1000 races. Ultras have no money, even the US championships don't really pay much.....less or equal to the Teva Mountain Games 10k....which is a shame.

The trout were tasty!!

great fishing there. I know of a couple honey holes. I'd tell ya, but then I'd have to shoot ya. Also some nice streams near the Big Horns. Enjoy, and don't hook yourself.

Ohhh, guided mountain running by the goat legend himself?! Would we have to keep up? I just got back from CO, and my Nebraska legs revolted on a couple of those climbs, but I had the time of my life. I know what I'm asking for my bday...

I wonder if Matt C has ever done any other 100 besides the LT. I know he did it twice with the second time being the current record. Too bad he does not race more but he obvioulsy knows what he is focused on, the PPM and the Barr Trail. Nice to see him in the NF final the last two years, I wish we saw him more agianst mainstreaming ultra dudes like you an AK, KS,HK and so many others. Rummers on your level leave me incredulous!

You need to get in touch with Creighton King to really find out about the fkt's in the Wind's. Creighton and Paul Brennen were running some real fast routes twenty years ago but never published their reports.

Winds are great. Peter set the FKT on Gannett last week - a notable achievement on a notable peak:

Like Andy says, Tony is gone if he's healthy. "Gaté, gaté, paragaté as they say in Sanskrit.

Have fun!
