Scott Jurek is currently in 3rd place and still in position to win the European’s big dance. Check it out here.
Last year’s winner is currently leading, but the pressure is on. Let’s hope Scotty J can rally and pull it off….completely under our radar….go Scott!
Krissy Moehl is now in the lead and looking to win her 2nd UTMB! We’ll see

Unfortunately for the field, Kilian Jornet (who broke the course record last year in his first race of the UTMB) is very strong this year and now has more than 1 hour on the closest follower in the field, and Scott has dropped off the pace of the first group of followers down 2 a second group still in the top 10. Past winners such as Dawa Sherpa, Vincent Delebarre and Marco Olmo dropped out early. According to the local press, Kilian prepared for the race in the last few weeks in Chamonix by climbing Mont Blanc twice … well, running it. In 4 hours (4810m snow climb). According to local papers. And the guy is not even 23. He races as a ski mountaineer in winter …
Didn’t mean to post same sentence twice about local papers. Oh well. Still following and hoping Scott has a last kick left to gain back a few more spots before the end here . . .
Oh and American Kristin Moehl has pulled ahead of last year’s winner from UK Elisabeth Hawker in the women’s category but both are still relatively close and that could change. They are just behind Scott in 15th and 20th places overall now …
Look Karl, Killian has know poles! http://www.chamonix-meteo.com/
COME BACK FROM THE DARKSIDE, you can be a man again!

Way to go Krissy! What an incredibly impressive performance.
