Nick Clark takes home another victory, and a goat leg for the mantle. Bethany Lewis takes home the fastest Nannie time too!

Nick Clark continued his dominating season with another epic win this past weekend in a slick 6:09.50.   Only 3 weeks after Hardrock and 5 weeks after Western States, he continues to lead the way for the US Ultrarunner of the year.  Nick Pedatella finished 2nd a few minutes back at 6:12.02, and Joe Grant, this year’s 3rd place finisher was right behind in 6:12.15.  Joe wrote up a nice report here  on this year’s beating at Snowbird Ski Resort.

Bethany Lewis continued here winning ways in Utah this year in her first Speedgoat in 6:44.30,  Becky Wheeler ran strong in 2nd in 6:54.04, and Missy Gosney moved up a spot from last year in 7:20.03.

No records went down this year, but because of small mishap on course I awadred the winner of the mens race the full $1000 for the win.  The women’s race was not affected by the “Incident”, so prize money remained the same for the Nannies.

Everyone liked our new hill, now labeled the “elevator shaft”, a climb of “only” 414′, but in just .18 of a mile, that’s 2000′ per mile of a pitch.  It was awesome to see runners essentially racing at 1-2 mph, gotta love a slow race.  Overall the race went real smooth and I was only frowned at maybe once.

Stay tuned for info on some drop bags I have, and some other random stuff. I”m gonna go clean the rest of all this stuff.  Congrats to all who finished and attempted the Speedgoat 50k, a real “mountain race”
