Antelopes, Buffalo, and a big ole’ herd.
This weekend, well Friday (cuz’ we’re in Utah) I’ll be running the Antelope Island 100 mile. This will be my second 100 this year. I’m not really sure what to expect, but feel pretty good physically to run around 15 hours. That, of course, is if all goes well. I’ve had off and on battles with Neuritis in my left foot, and it’s been giving me a little grief lately. Sure sounds like a pre-race excuse eh? Not really, but it’ll be interesting to see if I can work this one out. In my favor is the course being almost flat. Downhill is a little sketchy, uphill is good and flat is fine too, but cranking downhill could cause the feeling of putting the wet finger in the outlet. It’s not pretty when that happens.
We’ll see
Dan Vega proves to be the stiffest competition, with a few other faster runners with very little 100 mile experience. I’m not sure if those guys know all the textbook rules, or if they’ll hang or if they have the autopilot button, but we’ll see.
It’s a great course out there, all singletrack, buffalos, DIRT, and perfect weather in the 70’s on race day. Should be a winner. I just hope I don’t have issues. Blah Blah Blah right?
Speedgoat 50k is filling up faster and faster, get in now, then get on the wait list if you don’t make it. My prize purse is growing, just like the bunny meter over at the Steamboat 100. It’s likely gonna hit $10,000 pretty soon. I’ll announce that in due time.
Coffee? It’s still roasting away at Jameson Coffee. Speedgoatkarl’s 100 mile blend is ready to ship….after we roast a special order for ya. Damn, it’s good….if you like coffee.
Hokas are now hitting the shelves, if you want a pair, or have been looking, now’s the time for a score. Call these guys locally, they just got em’ in today!
Alrighty, I’m off to see the big movie, “Unbreakable”. Seems as though I may know a few folks in that one.
And lastly, that long awaited Luge Run Video is coming, we’ve done the footage, just waiting for the edit now. Next post, we should be done….I hope.
