Phew!
Another season comes to an end. I started strong, finished strong, and had a few issues in the middle when all the big boys were in France. It was an interesting year to say the least. 2 100 mile wins, some fast times, and I feel like I didn’t do anything. A full recap is coming in my next post (when I have more time).
In the meantime, I’m headed to Austin, TX for the “Running Event”. I’ll be hanging with Hoka one one, Ryders Eyewear and Ultraspire for the weekend. If you’re around stop by Hoka and pick up some of my “100 mile blend“. We’ll be handing out samples of that too, or just order up, cuz’ the coffee kicks ass. 🙂
A big congrats again to Mike Wolfe for coming out on top at the North Face Endurance 50. His 6:18 was pretty sick, and Dakota Jones was only a few minutes behind. Adam Campbell also ran well for third.
I got chicked. 🙂 After running in about 40th place at mile 8, I passed guys and gals all day, about 27 of them, and Anna was the only person in the field to pass me after mile 8. Yup, I”m a 100 mile specialist. I was just getting warmed up. Anna, Ellie, and Joelle ran 1-2-3. Needless to say, it was a great race and a fun time. My 7:01.47 got me 13th, one of my worst finish places ever, but in that field, it doesn’t suck, I had a really strong run for an old man. The only guy over 40 ahead of me was Kubaragi, I can probably live with that too. 🙂
Don’t forget, the Speedgoat 50k registration will go online on January 1. This year we’ll have 300 eagar goats in the field. Make sure you check back periodically so not to miss out, cuz’ I’m sure it’ll close pretty fast this year.
Lastly, go get some of “Speedgoatkarl’s 100 mile blend“! It is Christmas, and a great stuffer for that stocking. Get it here.
I”m outta here, off to Austin for some tunes and yick yack…..
